After rumors that she was in a hospital in Los Angeles, Brandy has a message for her fans.
After the news came out on Wednesday, the star told her fans on her Instagram Stories (Oct. 12). “To my beloved family, friends, and stars: Thank you for sending me love and light,” she wrote. I’m doing what the doctor told me to do and getting the rest I need because I’m dehydrated and not getting enough food. We’re grateful for your prayers and help. Thank you all, and I’ll see you soon. “
TMZ was the first to say that the 43-year-old was taken to the hospital. The website says that the singer was taken to a nearby hospital Tuesday after police were called to her home. Billboard has contacted Brandy’s representatives, as well as the LAPD and LAFD.
Brandy has had a busy year. In August, she told the press that she would be the lead in the upcoming A24 thriller, The Front Room. Variety says that the movie, which is based on the same-titled short story by Susan Hull, will be Max and Sam Eggers’ first big-screen directing job. It will be about “a young couple with a new baby on the way who are forced to take in a sick stepmother who has been estranged from the family for a long time.”
This past TV season, Brandy also showed off her acting skills by starring in ABC’s short-lived musical drama Queens with fellow music stars Eve, Naturi Naughton of 3LW, and Nadine Velazquez. She celebrated the 25th anniversary of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella earlier this year with a 20/20 reunion special that included interviews with Bernadette Peters, Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Alexander, Victor Garber, Paolo Montalban, Billy Porter, Todrick Hall, and others.
Back in 2017, Brandy had another medical emergency. She passed out at the Los Angeles airport and had to be taken to the hospital. At the time, the R&B singer’s publicist, Courtney Barnes, said that the singer was too busy with things like concerts and personal appearances to do anything else. In the end, she couldn’t meet all of the needs.
“Brandy was let out of the hospital and is now resting at home. “She has been traveling a lot because she has been on tour and has made a number of personal appearances,” Barnes said at the time. “In the past few days, she has been on more than 10 long-distance flights, some of which were to other countries.”
