A new version of “The Strangers” will star Ema Horvath. The actress from “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is in talks to star in the movie with Madeleine Petsch, Froy Gutierrez, and Gabriel Basso. The movie is currently being made in Slovakia.
The first movie came out in 2008, and Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman played a couple that had to deal with a scary home invasion. After it came out, it became a surprise hit, and over time, it became a cult classic.
In 2018, a follow-up called “The Strangers: Prey at Night” came out.
The remake is being directed by Renny Harlin, and the story follows Petsch’s character as she and her longtime boyfriend (Gutierrez) drive across the country to start a new life in the Pacific Northwest.
When their car breaks down in Oregon, the couple has no choice but to spend the night in a remote Airbnb, where three masked strangers terrorize them from dusk until dawn. With two sequels, Lionsgate wants to add to the story in new and unexpected ways.
The remake, which will be shown all over the world by Lionsgate, was written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. The movie is being put together by Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Charlie Dombeck, and Alastair Birlingham.
Ema plays Darien in the Amazon series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” which is getting close to the end of its first season.
She has also worked on the psychological horror film “Like. Share. Follow” by Blumhouse and the thriller “What Lies Below.”
