Keanu Reeves exits The Devil In The White City series

Keanu Reeves has reportedly quit the upcoming Hulu series “The Devil in the White City.”

The editors of Variety reported over the weekend, citing sources, that the John Wick actor has quit the TV show where he was supposed to play Daniel Burnham. It’s still not clear why Reeves quit the project.

The Devil in the White City is based on the same-named novel by Erik Larson. It tells the story of Burnham, an architect at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, the serial killer who built the elaborate “Murder Castle.”

In 2010, Leonardo DiCaprio bought the rights to make the movie. At first, Martin Scorsese was supposed to be in charge of the project.

But DiCaprio and Scorsese later decided to work with Hulu producers to turn the book into a series, with the two of them serving as executive producers.

The Devil in the White City was supposed to be Reeves’s first big TV role before he quit the show. Nobody has said who will take over yet.
