Robert Downey Jr. said that his return to the Marvel universe needs to be carefully planned and exciting enough for him to get excited about the role again. It was the final time we saw him as Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame.
On the Joe Rogan podcast, Robert Downey Jr. was asked about his possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe again. But the actor dashed the hopes of his fans when he said that wasn’t likely to happen any time soon. He was also asked if he would be interested in just voicing his character’s part in the second season of Marvel’s animated show What If…?
I don’t think it’s possible for me to start over. I feel like I’ve done everything I could with that character, “said Robert, who had played Iron Man for more than a decade, starting with the first Iron Man movie, which started the MCU in 2008. In the 2019 movie Avengers: Endgame, his character, Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, gave up his life for the greater good.
The actor said that if he came back to the Marvel universe, there would have to be a strong argument and a series of events that made it clear. But there are other things I want to do. “
Rogan spoke up for millions of fans as he tried to make a case for RDJ to think about coming back to those movies. “Here’s what I think: they go through a few average Avengers movies without you. There comes a time when the fate of the world is at stake, and they realize they need a super genius.
Then, they figure out how to get the time machine going again. “When you step out of that machine, the crowd goes crazy,” Rogan said. Only time will tell if Robert Downey Jr. returns to the popular superhero movies or not. One can only hope for now.
