We’ve finally reached Midnight’s week after many weeks and months of drip feeds, Easter eggs, and product launches. Swifties can almost see the finish line.
This Friday, Taylor Swift’s tenth studio album, Midnights, will be released (Oct. 21). But release day isn’t the end of the story.
Swift posts a short new video to her social media channels that give us a look at her busy schedule, which includes appearances on TV shows on both sides of the Atlantic, the release of music videos and teasers, and more.
“Mark your calendars! “Meet the Midnights Manifest” is the title of TayTay’s most recent blog post, which tells us about a week in her life.
On Thursday, Oct. 20, during the third quarter of Thursday Night Football, there will be a teaser trailer on Prime Video.
The next day is the big reveal, when the Midnights album comes out, along with a “special very chaotic surprise” at 3 am ET, the music premiere for “Anti-Hero” at 8 am, and a #TSAntiHeroChallenge on YouTube Shorts. Midnight’s lyrics videos will be released at 8 p.m.
After a weekend of watching Midnights, fans can watch Taylor Swift on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC on Monday. This was already planned. Then, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, a second, unnamed Midnight music video will come out, and on Friday, Oct. 28, Swift will go to the BBC in the U.K. to be on The Graham Norton Show.
It shouldn’t be a shock that “Anti-Hero” is the first one to leave the station. Swift recently said that the song was “one of the favorites that I’ve ever written. I don’t think I’ve ever gone into this much detail about my fears before. “
She went on, “I have a lot of trouble with the idea that my life has become too big to handle. I don’t want to sound too dark, but I have trouble not feeling like a person. Please don’t feel sorry for me. You don’t need to. But this song really takes me on a tour of all the things I hate about myself. We all have things we dislike about ourselves.
Swift played a game on TikTok called “Midnight Mayhem With Me” in which she spun a bingo cage with 13 balls. Each ball was the name of a track on the album.
The album will also come out on different colored vinyl. Collect them all and spin them around, and you have a clock. Swift’s website sells the parts you need to make that clockwork.
Target is the only place where you can get the “Lavender Edition” of Midnights on vinyl and a CD with three bonus tracks.
