The trailer showed some unexpected appearances by legacy characters,

such as hologram James Moriarty (Daniel Davis) and Lore, Data's evil twin (Brent Spiner).

At the beginning of the trailer, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) gets a distress signal from Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden).

This makes him get together with old friends from The Next Generation, like William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Geordi La Forge (Levar Burton), Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis),

and Worf (Michael Dorn). At the centre of the trouble is Vadic, a bad guy who seems to be played by Amanda Plummer from Pulp Fiction.

At the very end of the trailer, scary scenes flash on both Moriarty and Lore, making things even more exciting.

This is the first time we've seen Spiner play Lore again, and it's also the first time we've seen (or heard) Moriarty return to Picard.
